I spend a lot of time and money buying and reading comics. Most of the time I'm happy with my choices, sometimes not. I'm hoping, that with my reviews on what I've read, I might spare someone else dissapointment. I'll read anything, but I can't afford everything. If there's something you'd like for me to read, let me know. If you take the time to read this, please, take the time to let me know what you think. I may not agree with you, or you may not agree with me. But, so what. That's life.

JSA Vs Kobra #4 - DC
Mr Terrific is getting closer and closer to figuring out Jason Burr's plans. He's the new leader of Kobra now . . after he killed his brother. It's all chronicled in Faces of Evil: Kobra. Great book by the way. He's been distracting the JSA, forcing them to react to his actions and threats . . while he's free to obtain and do whatever he wants . . unfettered. But even in this madness and chaos, Michael is starting to see a pattern. And he starts learning some new talents just in time . . magic. It seems that Jason is after the energy that's held in the statues of the Seven Deadly Sins in the Rock of Eternity. Mr Terrific goes there with a hand-picked team, but Jakeem jumps the gun. He releases Thunderbolt to collect Jason, but . . they're in a place of great magic. And Jason knows the secret word . . 'SHAZAM!' The feedback takes out Thunderbolt and knocks down the rest of the team. Jason escapes, but the JSA does end up with a key Kobra player . . Ariadne Persakis . . his second in command. I think this is a great series. Eric Trautmann is doing a great job with all of these characters. I especially like the way he's writing the story as if it's a chess match between Michael and Jason. This issue actually felt more like a JSA issue than the previous ones. They all pretty much felt like an extension of the Checkmate series. Don Kramer also did a fantastic job on the pencils. But then again . . he always does. If you're a fan of the JSA, Checkmate, or just espionage in general . . you'll like this series. But, seeing that it's almost over, you may just want to wait for the TPB. I'm sure it'll be out soon. By the way . . fantastic cover by Gene Ha.
