I spend a lot of time and money buying and reading comics. Most of the time I'm happy with my choices, sometimes not. I'm hoping, that with my reviews on what I've read, I might spare someone else dissapointment. I'll read anything, but I can't afford everything. If there's something you'd like for me to read, let me know. If you take the time to read this, please, take the time to let me know what you think. I may not agree with you, or you may not agree with me. But, so what. That's life.

the Shield #5 - DC
Another Red Circle character makes his appearance this issue . . the Jaguar. Last issue, the Shield went to Brazil to find out about some, apparent Nazi tech that had been attacking some big businesses down there. Because of his involvement, and the attack of some Chinese property, the Shield comes into contact with the Great Ten. This doesn't go all that well until the Shield uses some of his nano-tech to over-ride the systems of one of their own . . Shaolin Robot. This creates enough of a distraction that he can get some breathing room, and he gets away. He's more concerned about the actual threats around Brazil anyways . . the flying saucers that are still attacking some large buildings. He breaks into one of them only to find it commanded by a ship of robot drones. He's sees the face of the commander on a screen, but he has no idea who he is. Plus, this ship is filled with corpses inside of tubes. It appears that the Nazi's are continuing their quest for science on how the make the master race. These test-tubes represent hundreds of experiments. But the Shield finds one of the victims alive. It turns out this guy, Rafael Hardy, is actually the Jaguar. The issue ends with the Jaguar making his way through the robots, apparently because of what's been done to him, trying to get to the head. While back at the Nazi base, Baron Gestapo is watching what is going on and waiting to receive his visitors. This was definitely an action packed issue by Eric Trautmann and Marco Rudy. I'm enjoying Marco's art. But I think the real strength of this book lies in Eric's story-telling. I really enjoy the military aspect that he puts into this book. He seems very informed about these types of maneuvers. My only complaint about this issue is that as action packed as it was, it still seemed just a bit frantic. I know . . that was probably just for the effect of the story. It just seemed a bit hectic to me. And to be honest, I didn't even read the Inferno story. I'm just not that interested. But I did notice that at the end of the story the Comet shows up.
