Amazons Attack! #3 - DC

Like I said last time, what I really like about this particular mini is the way they have the story interacting with the regular comics. Usually when all these books cross over like this, you can do without one or the other, the regular or the mini issue, without it affecting the story to much. But with this one, one leads in to the other, without very much overlap. This issue we see Hippolyta address the nation. She says that the only thing that will stop the was is the United States unconditional surrender. Artemis and Phillipus are at the TV station with her, watching her make her statement, from the sidelines. Even they are blown away. Artemis ponders a question to Phillipus, "So what do we do, Phillipus . . . when our beloved leader is no longer fit to lead?" So even the Amazons know that something is not Kosher here. Also the President doesn't seem quite right. We know that Everyman was filling in for Sarge Steel. Maybe he's up here in Air-force 1 filling in for the President now. He just seems in an awful hurry to set up concentration camps. And he really wants to be on the ground, in the middle of the battle, rather than safe in his plane. And how are they gonna save Nemesis. He's been bitten by the giant bees (?), and he only has a few hours to get the antidote. But it's locked in the queens vault on Themyscira. Also someone, I'm guessing Circe, is watching Grace. You know, from the Outsiders. Apparently she has sparked some interest, and the person watching her wants to know "Are you the one we seek?". Ollie, who has controlled the Nuclear incident out west, has found an undetonated package. The tech is definitely beyond anything the Amazons would use. I'm guessing either Lex Luthor, or . . . . Darkseid. But I'm just guessing. And finally Cassie and Kara make their move on Air-force 1, and are standing on the nose demanding they land the plane. This little was the Hippolyta started because the US govt. was holding Diana, has gone way beyond that. But we still don't know why. And we don't know who seems to be pushing Hippolyta towards the edge. We thought it was Circe. But she's dead, supposedly. So is it Luthor? Maybe Darkseid? We still got 3 issues to go, so I don't think we're going to find out right away. My advice? Hang on for the ride.
