I spend a lot of time and money buying and reading comics. Most of the time I'm happy with my choices, sometimes not. I'm hoping, that with my reviews on what I've read, I might spare someone else dissapointment. I'll read anything, but I can't afford everything. If there's something you'd like for me to read, let me know. If you take the time to read this, please, take the time to let me know what you think. I may not agree with you, or you may not agree with me. But, so what. That's life.

Nemesis - the Impostors #1 - DC
I wasn't sure what to expect with this story, but . . I liked the Escape mini-series, so . . I thought I'd give it a shot. Plus I think Nemesis, Tom Tresser's character, is really interesting. It appears that whatever happened to him during his stay in Electric City is still messing with his head . . or maybe just his perception. The story starts out with him racing down the highway. He's got guys in cars all over the place trying to kill him, and a guy sitting in the seat next to him bleeding to death. He's also worried about something else, but he can't remember what it was. During the chase his mind slips back to his memories of Electric City. He feels like Brother Eye is still messing with him, but I'm thinking his imagination is just playing tricks on him. That . . or during his stay, Brother Eye did indeed form a connection with Tom. Maybe he's just reaching out to him, but Tom is misinterpreting what he's seeing. This issue is just the set-up, so . . we don't have all the details yet. As he's thinking back on what brought him to this situation, we see that he's posing as a don of a very secret crime family, the Council. He's even got someone dressed up like him, so it looks like he's captured . . well, himself. Everything is going according to plan until the Joker shows up. In all the confusion that follows, the Joker ends up getting shot. Which is who the man bleeding next to him is. The other thing that he couldn't remember? It appears that the Batman is trying to stop him also. I thought that Ivan Brandon and Cliff Richards brought us a very interesting first chapter of this new mini-series. It's not as 'out there' as Escape, but . . it's still got some of that edge. Plus I'd imagine that we'll be exploring Tom's connection to Brother Eye now that he's passed all of his tests and been released from Electric City. It was entertaining and definitely whet my whistle for some more.
