I spend a lot of time and money buying and reading comics. Most of the time I'm happy with my choices, sometimes not. I'm hoping, that with my reviews on what I've read, I might spare someone else dissapointment. I'll read anything, but I can't afford everything. If there's something you'd like for me to read, let me know. If you take the time to read this, please, take the time to let me know what you think. I may not agree with you, or you may not agree with me. But, so what. That's life.

Doom Patrol #8 - DC
The Doom Patrol undergoes a little bit of weirdness this month courtesy of Grant Morrison. No . . he didn't write this issue. As far as I know he's not even involved. But, back when he did write this series, some of the fantastic ideas and characters he came up with have been lingering around. And with Oberon and his moving company disturbing so much stuff at Dayton manor last issue . . it appears that some of them have become restless. Specifically . . Danny the Street. Danny is a guardian of dimensions, of sorts, that Grant developed back during his run on this title. But Danny seems to have lost control of his environment and stuff from all sorts of dimensions have decided to enter, and lay claim to Earth. He's now just Danny the Brick. I don't know if it was Oberon's involvement when he started messing around with Steve's paraphernalia, or if this was just inevitable. But either way . . Oolong Island seems to be under attack . . yet again. This story was very reminiscent of one of Grant's issues. Which says alot about the writing talent of Keith Giffen. It wasn't quite as oblique as Grant's, but . . it came across just as interesting. And I thought Matthew Clark and Ron Randall did a fantastic job with the art. The last incarnation of this title I thought was ok. But it was missing that strangeness that Grant brought to the book. This time . . it seems that Keith has coalesced the best ideas of each into into it's own unique entity. And . . I like it. I missed the Metal Men not being here this issue, but . . I liked the way the book read better without them. Hopefully they'll get another mini-series here sooner or later. Unfortunately there's nothing on the books just yet. Anyways, this is a great series and I definitely think it's living up to it's illustrious history.
